Indialucia’s newest single — a bold and mesmerising preview of the band’s upcoming third album. Titled “Al-Yanoush,” the track dives deep into a world where contemporary flamenco meets the rich traditions of Indian classical music, creating a sound that is both intense and hypnotic.
This release is made even more special by the presence of two outstanding guest artists: Varijashree Venugopal, one of the most remarkable voices of Indian classical music, known for her collaborations with Jacob Collier and Anoushka Shankar, and Carles Benavent, the legendary Spanish bassist whose playing shaped the sound of Paco de Lucía’s iconic ensembles.
Driven by the fiery pulse of bulerías, intricate unison lines, and breathtaking vocal improvisations inspired by Indian ragas, “Al-Yanoush” unfolds as a dramatic, multi-layered journey — rhythmically daring, harmonically rich, and emotionally charged. It is a piece that rewards deep listening while remaining powerfully immediate.
This is Indialucia at their most ambitious and captivating yet.
This single is a heartfelt dedication to my father, Janusz, who passed away exactly four years ago. The artwork features his hands cradling mine when I was just four years old—a cherished snapshot of our bond. Even the title is in his own handwriting. It’s a small homage to the man who shaped me and my musical taste.
